Port Lodz, Poland
Imaginative and safe children’s play worlds.
Working with the Creative Head of Interiors at Portland Design we developed the three-dimensional design elements which had started off as a series of graphic icons.
To achieve this we worked with RODECO who are a contractor with years of experience specialising in the manufacture of children’s play elements. Interiors Project Leader, masterplanning, design development, visualisation, client and contractor and detail drawing package.
Using our research we identified and designed elements that children would learn different skills from such as physical development, creative play and social interaction.
The layout of the space was sequenced to start in the countryside with the play houses and reading areas, then on to the city zone comprising a Wii area and playframe, and finally onto the beach scene with a ball pool and submarine with porthole windows looking into a shimmering under sea world.
Kiddyland at Port Lodz is the first 400sq/m managed play facility for Inter-Ikea’s new shopping centre investments.
